The TIP includes bicycle, pedestrian, road, transit and airport projects, and lists the project phase, funding amount and source, and fiscal year programmed. The projects in the TIP are coordinated with the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) Five-Year Work Program.
TIP projects generally come originally from the Long Range Transportation Plan Cost Feasible project list and are further elevated in the List of Priority Projects. The TIP may be amended or modified throughout the year due to changes in funding availability or priority.
The Gainesville & Alachua County TPO Board approved the 2026/27-2030/31 Transportation Improvement Program with 167 projects totaling over $1 billion for the next five years.
The largest investments are for repair and maintenance (45.42%) and transit (24.58%).
